Acoustifc Emission for Structural Integrity of Concrete from Fresh to Damaged

چکیده

Applications of acoustic emission (AE) to structural integrity of concrete are summarized, dealing with both fresh and hardened concrete. Under mixing concrete, AE activity is applied to estimate the consistency. After hardened, in a uniaxial compression test, AE activity is modeled by the rate process theory and is correlated with the damage degree. For inspection of reinforced concrete (RC) members, the damage is qualified, based on Kaiser effect. Following the theoretical treatment, identification of cracking mechanisms by SiGMA procedure is discussed. Thus, AE characteristics of concrete are clarified from the fresh state to the damaged, and their applications to structural integrity of concrete structures are demonstrated.

The Influence of Pet Fibers on the Properties of Fresh and Hardened Concrete

There is a worldwide interest in using fibers of different types in concrete mixtures. In this regard, as the use of PET fibers has gradually increased during the last decade, this study aims to investigate the effects of PET fibers on the mechanical properties of hardened concrete and the workability of fresh concrete. To this end, different contents of PET fibers (PC= %0, %0.5, %1 and %1.5) a...

Investigating properties of fresh and hardened self-compacting concrete made of recycled aggregates

Self-compacting concrete is a new high performance concrete with high ductility and segregation resistance. In recent years, construction material manufacturers have focused their attention on lightweight concrete and have strived to use lightweight concrete, if possible, in load-bearing parts of buildings. Concrete with both self-compacting and lightweight properties is favourable in this cont...

Numerical investigation of GFRP bars contribution on performance of concrete structural elements

In this study, twenty glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) reinforced concrete specimens were modelled using finite element method to predict the effect of GFRP compressive bars on the flexural strength and ductility of GFRP reinforced concrete beams. Also, the contribution of GFRP longitudinal rebars to the load-carrying capacity of reinforced concrete columns is determined. The concrete elas...

Study of Damaged Zone around Circular Opening Using Acoustic Emission Technique

One of the methods used to investigate the damaged zone in rock structure is the acoustic emission method. This method is based on receiving the elastic waves that are produced by deformation and cracking of the rock mass around the underground excavation. In this research, a study is conducted on the rock samples by a numerical method to investigate the damaged zone caused by the excavat...
